I am a content & creative specialist, a multidisciplinary designer, and a freelance writer with 10 years of experience in the creative industry. With a good understanding of the inception and execution of compelling ideas, I can independently conduct insight driven research, develop concepts, and utilise various mediums such as copywriting, photography, graphic design, podcasting and more to bring ideas to life.
My career began in editorial. I worked as an editor for The New York Times Travel Magazine, where I was responsible for the 36 Hours column. Later, I joined the online platform Haohaozhu as a design writer. Alongside these roles, I have contributed to various media outlets and commercial brands, creating advertising copy, social media content, campaign concepts, and trend reports. Since 2019, driven by my long-standing interest in branding and design, my practice has naturally expanded into brand consultancy and strategy. While in Shanghai, I managed a project that transformed a garage into a multi-functional cultural hub. After moving to London, I led the brand strategy and identity for a Sichuan eatery in Berlin, and designed merches for the rrenowned bar a bar with shapes for a name. Also, during my time volunteering at Hackney ESEA Community Centre, I turned my observations and experiences into a series of zines.
I’ve never drawn a hard line between life and work, most of my ideas grow out of lived experience. Like Claude Lévi-Strauss’s concept of BRICOLAGE, I collect all the shining fragments from everyday life. I believe in walking, paying attention, and experiencing, not only as fleeting pleasure, but as the starting point for countless ideas and solutions.
Apart from my professional and personal projects, I like fried rice vermicelli and shaved ice, seaside, cats, and walking with my camera.
Some people who inspire me
Ray Eames, Margaret Howell, Agnès Varda
