THE RECIPES FOR THE BANQUET
The booklet features recipes for five dishes that go beyond simple home-cooked meals. These are examples of Chinese haute cuisine, requiring time and patience to perfect. These five dishes were served at the first banquet after Hackney Chinese Community Services moved to their new address. I had the privilege of witnessing Chef Jennie spend two days preparing these dishes for nearly 100 people. After the banquet, I collaborated with Jennie to adapt the recipes into versions suitable for serving four.
